Hi, I’m Carmen Lanteigne.

This is my next iteration as a Pilates teacher.

I’ve always considered myself an educator, but nowadays, I call myself a guide for people interested in Pilates as a lifestyle. For many years, I’ve honed my skills working with first and second-generation teachers, and I have helped many people start their Pilates journey, leading them to a transformation beyond the physical aspect.

I’ve been obsessing about Aligned Pilates, and today, it is as close as I envision it to be for those who champion the idea of following one’s instinct when it comes to moving their bodies.

The Space

The moving parts of Aligned Pilates include specialty apparatus—Reformers, Mats, Cadillac, Chairs, Barrels, and other auxiliary apparatus that help teach people about their bodies, improve flexibility, develop a strong torso, work alignment, and ignite the mind-body connection that is often dimly lit in many of us.

The byproduct of consistent Pilates practice is harmony in the body. This feeling of balance within a person makes navigating a stress-filled world more peaceful. My favorite moments are when people share how Pilates has changed them beyond the physical, and when questions come up, I listen to how I can guide them further in their experience. It is a rewarding time for me and the students. I listen, and they listen. We both win.

In the words of one of my favorite teachers, Jay Grimes, “Every student that comes through that door is your teacher; you just have to listen.”

I am grateful for every student who has trusted me to share Joseph Pilates's work with them.

PS. My little dog, Pablo, sometimes will join me in the studio, watching people practice from his comfortable bed.

Work With Carmen

From my many years of experience, I have developed specific guidelines for students interested in Pilates as a lifestyle and success working with me.

Limited SpacE

INCOMPARABLE to the mass gym experience, I have limited space so students can fully immerse themselves by having access to the entire studio with guidance as needed in their workouts. Each person works on the program inherent to their body.

Train Consistently

To experience a significant transformation, committing to practicing two to three times a week at Aligned, including a home mat practice, will build a strong foundation in the body, improve technique, and unlock the body's potential to master the work of Pilates.

Be Open-Minded

Pilates is a unique discipline that requires time and dedication. It may initially feel unfamiliar and challenging, so I always say, “Don’t quit before the magic happens!" By embracing the learning process and being open-minded to new experiences, you will allow yourself the incredible physical and mental benefits of Pilates.

Pilates is not easy. It requires work.
