What I value as a Contrology specialist
I believe Joseph Pilates’ method can benefit every person’s body.
I AM also a realist.
I will acknowledge that sometimes a person is not the right fit for Joseph Pilates’ work, as it requires effort, discipline, and honesty about one’s ability. To experience change, students must be consistent in their practice and open-minded. Time is not a threat but rather a gift; with lots of practice, they will, in time, experience the body’s zest for life.
Contrology is not something a person does once in a while or the opposite when practicing that doing excessive repetitions ad nauseam will get it into the body quicker; instead, we approach the practice thoughtfully and respect our bodies, allowing the work of Pilates to settle into us over time rather than trying to rush the process.
When practicing Pilates, we must be radically honest about our bodies to have a safe and peaceful workout.
Pilates can create change within us if we learn to relax and take it easy. Pilates is meant to be enjoyable, not frustrating and exhausting.
Wherever you are in your practice, when the body, mind, and breath are in harmony, Contrology will feel like this.
It is an absolute privilege to be alongside you in your journey of learning Joseph Pilates's work.
